The Tri-town CommissionThe Tri-town Commission is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Lake Fairlee Dam under the interlocal agreement between the towns of Thetford, Fairlee, and West Fairlee. Responsibilities include preparing a budget, managing business affairs, maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, and ensuring that the dam is safe and secure.
The State performed a routine inspection of the two centuries old dam in 2009 and found its condition to be “fair.” This was the first step in a rebuild that took several years of planning and was completed in 2016. It had been over 70 years since the previous rebuild. |
