LaRosa Partnership Program

VT Program Contacts: Mel Auffredou and Heather Pembrook

LFA Contacts:  David Forbes and Sean Brown
In an effort to identify the potential source of increased Phosphorus levels in Lake Fairlee, the WQAC, working with the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (VDEC), began measuring phosphate in lake tributaries as part of the LaRosa Partnership program.  Since its launch on Lake Fairlee in 2020, sampling has focused on the two primary watershed tributaries of Middle Brook and Blood Brook.  Water samples are taken from several locations on these streams bi-weekly throughout the summer.  Understanding the impact of tributary health to the overall health of Lake Fairlee will help the WQAC recommend and prioritize efforts to mitigate increasing phosphate levels and improve water quality.
Volunteers interested in participating in water sampling for the LaRosa project should reach out to the contacts listed above.
