Why become a Member of the Lake Fairlee Association?

The Lake Fairlee Association (LFA) is organized to protect and preserve the natural beauty of Lake Fairlee for current users and future generations.

Membership is open to all who love the lake: lake residents, visitors, camps, and neighbors near and far.

Annual membership dues and donations fund a variety of projects focused on lake health and enjoyment; the most significant portion funds the milfoil eradication program. In addition, volunteers contribute many hours of their time hand-pulling milfoil and helping in other ways, and some donate the use of their property to support our efforts. A summary of our finances can be found here.

The Lake Fairlee Association is a non-profit corporation organized under the laws of Vermont. It is supported by membership dues, gifts from individuals and organizations, an annual grant from the state Department of Environmental Conservation, and, most years, by grants from the three towns that share the lake. The IRS has granted the LFA tax exempt status under section 501(c)(3). Depending on your tax situation your contribution may be tax deductible.
