The Lake Fairlee Association, Inc. is governed by a set of bylaws which include the following section on Purposes:

Section 1.2 - Purposes. The Association is organized and shall be operated exclusively for the charitable purposes to preserve, protect and enhance the distinctive ecology and natural resources of Lake Fairlee and its surrounding watershed.
